The Peggy Guggenheim Collection is among the most important museums in Italy for American art of the first half of the 20th century. It is housed in Peggy Guggenheim's former home Palazzo Venier Leoni located on the Grand Canal. The museum includes Peggy Guggenheim's personal collection, masterpieces from the Hannelore B. and Rudolph B. Schulhof collection, a sculpture garden as well as temporary exhibitions. Included are notable works from Cubism, Futurism, Metaphysical painting, European abstraction, avant-garde sculpture, Surrealism, and American Abstract Expressionism by some of the most prominent artists of the 20th century.
